Battlegrounds Mobile users under 18 years of age would now have to ask their guardians to open the game for them.

Players who are under 18 years of age will have to get content from their parents/ guardians to play the game. Moreover, minors will not be allowed to play Battlegrounds Mobile India for more than three hours and spend Rs 7,000 per day for in-app purchases.

Mobile Number verify requirement for all players

It states that if you are under 18 years, you will have to provide the mobile number of your parent or guardian. This is to confirm that you are eligible to play the Battlegrounds Mobile India game. This is the first time we are seeing this kind of rule in any game so far.

Gaming Play-Time Limit for minor players

The Battlegrounds Mobile India privacy policy also mentions that players under the age of 18 years cannot play the game for more than three hours a day. It is a great way to give parents relief as most worry about how much time they play the game disrupting their daily lives.

This is a step in the right direction and even though some might contest the move, the gaming limits will appease critics who have often talked about the ill effects of prolonged gaming at length. In fact, it was one of the reasons why the government was convinced to ban PUBG Mobile last year.

Battlegrounds Mobile India’s privacy policy regarding underage players reads:

“If you are under 18 years of age, you will be asked to provide the mobile phone number of your parent or guardian to confirm that you are legally eligible to play the game. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child under 18 years of age has provided us with personal information without your consent, you can contact us and request your child’s information to be deleted from our system.”
