Fujitsu Allows employees to work from home permanently

The Japanese Technology firm Fujitsu announced the Work From Home plan for its employees permanently. The company said it will divide it’s office space in Japan and will let the Employees to work from home during the COVID 19 pandemic. has said it will halve its office space in Japan as it adapts to the “new normal” of the coronavirus pandemic.

Fujitsu Limited is a Japanese multinational information technology equipment and services company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. In 2018, it was the world’s fourth-largest IT services provider measured by global IT services revenue

The Office staff will have flexible hours to work from home and will have to work as per the standards wherever they work. It says the “Work Life Shift” programme will offer unprecedented flexibility to its 80,000 workers in the country.

The announcement follows a similar move in May by social media platform Twitter.

In a statement sent to the BBC, Fujitsu said it “will introduce a new way of working that promises a more empowering, productive, and creative experience for employees that will boost innovation and deliver new value to its customers and society”.

Under the plan employees will “begin to primarily work on a remote basis to achieve a working style that allows them to flexibly use their time according to the contents of their work, business roles, and lifestyle”.

The company also said the programme would allow staff to choose where they worked, whether that was from home, a major corporate hub or a satellite office.

Fujitsu believes that that the increased autonomy offered to its workers will help to improve the performance of teams and increase productivity.

Sree Sreenivasan, visiting professor of digital innovation at the Stony Brook University School of Journalism, said the announcement underlined the huge long-term impact of the pandemic on the way many of us work.

“This is yet another sign that everything we know about offices and the future of work is being upended. Thousands of employers and millions of employees are learning the pros and cons of the new normal.”

“If they can combine the best of the pros (less commuting, more productivity, less expenses, etc), while minimising the cons (lack of in-person bonding, never being off the clock, etc), millions will be grateful, while frustrating thousands who preferred the old way of life,” he added.

The social media platform said: “The past few months have proven we can make that work. So if our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen.”

Snapchat to Take on TikTok by Adding Music to Snaps With This New Cool Feature

Snapchat has reportedly started testing a new feature that will let you add music to the videos you record and send. The new feature, announced on Monday, makes Snapchat the latest social media platform to compete with TikTok.

Snapchat’s announcement comes at a time when TikTok is facing scrutiny across major markets.

In India, the app was banned late June along with 58 other Chinese-origin apps.

In the US, President Trump has been threatening to crack down on TikTok over increasing data privacy concerns.

Snap said it would launch the feature to English-language users this fall, with it rolling out first in New Zealand and Australia starting today. The feature could let Snapchat gain some of the energy and creativity users are currently bringing to TikTok, but it seems as though this isn’t being designed as a full-on TikTok competitor.

For now, it sounds like there won’t be a feed of videos set to music, and there won’t be a way to see other videos featuring the same song — two features key to TikTok.

A Snap spokesperson emphasized that it’s designed for sharing music with your “real friends.”

That said, Snap knows that TikTok is the target here. In an email detailing the new feature, Snap said that “based on publicly available data,” its app “reaches more people in the U.S. than Twitter and TikTok combined.”

When friends receive one of the new Snaps with music, they’ll be able to swipe up to view the album art, song title, and artist name.

How Will It Happen?

A “Play This Song” link will also be available. When clicked, it will open a web view to Linkfire that will allow users to listen to the full song — not a snippet — on their preferred music streaming platform, like Spotify, Apple Music, or SoundCloud.

When Can We Expect It?

As per the report, the new feature will be rolled out this autumn. The ‘robust’ catalog of music includes titles from Merlin, Universal Music Publishing Group, Warner Music Group, and other record labels that have partnered with Snap.

Cars are coming to Fortnite this week. The new vehicles, or at least some of them, will be added in a patch on Wednesday, August 5, according to a tweet from the official account.

  • Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 should soon see the much-awaited arrival of cars.
  • Vehicles will provide mobility and also a means to have casual fun in the game.
  • One of the cars is called Whiplash, and Epic Games calls it “a warning” to Fortnite players.
  • The developer confirmed the news on the official Fortnite Twitter account, where it explains “It’s not just a name. It’s a warning”. The cars will be coming to Fortnite in the upcoming Joy Ride update, which will arrive on gamers’ systems on Wednesday, August 5.

WHEN ARE CARS COMING TO FORTNITE?

The big Fortnite Cars Update has a release date set for Wednesday, August 5, 2020, across all platforms.

This means that everyone will be getting the Fortnite Joy Ride Update at the same time on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mobile, and Nintendo Switch.

Based on previous releases, the Fortnite Cars update time could be set for around 9 am BST on August 5.

For gamers in the United States, this would mean the update process beginning at around 4 am ET on the same day.

What Is The Possible Update To Fornite??

Judging from posters scattered around the map, we can assume there will be at least four driveable cars added in the new update.

There’s the sporty Whiplash, a nondescript hatchback called Prevalent, a retro-inspired pickup called Bear, and a big old’ semi called Mudflap.

It’s possible each one will have different pros and cons like speed, maneuverability, and attack damage.

Twitter’s paid subscription model may offer Exciting Features Like undo send button, custom colors and more !! Check Out All !!

Earlier this month, Twitter told investors it’s considering a subscription model as a means of generating additional revenue to support its business.

In a new survey, the company asks users to evaluate paid features like “undo send”, as well as other ideas like custom colors, the ability to publish longer and more high-def videos, support for profile badges, auto-responses, additional “social listening” analytics and the ability to run brand surveys about ads.

Highlights :

  • A Twitter spokesperson informed that Twitter is holding surveys to evaluate options for a membership model. The survey questions were first posted on Twitter by social media consultant Matt Navarra.
  • Earlier, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey confirmed that Twitter was looking at exploring a subscription model for the platform, although it is in the very early phases of exploration.

He also said that Twitter is looking at other options to generate revenue.

“You will likely see some tests this year” of various approaches, Dorsey told analysts, CNN reported. Dorsey said he has “a really high bar for when we would ask consumers to pay for aspects of Twitter.” He confirmed that Twitter is seeking to diversify its sources of revenue in what are “very, very early phases of exploring.”

Expected Features with New Subscription Model

  • Undo send button: Twitter may never get an edit button but this one gives the user a 30-second window to recall or withdraw a tweet.
  • Custom colors: With this feature, users will be able to change the fonts and theme colors of Twitter. This will change the background color, mentions, hashtags, and icon in the color chosen by the user.
  • Videos: Twitter’s paid membership will allow users to publish videos up to 5x longer than what’s allowed now. The resolution will also increase to 8192 x 8192 pixels.
  • Auto responses: Able to write and set a menu of auto-responses to use in replies.
  • Social listening: You can see the conversation around your account on Twitter, including total volume, the people and businesses who are talking most often and what they are saying. This, again, would largely appeal to brands.
  • Brand Surveys: You could be able to survey people about the ads you run to better understand if your ad was memorable.
