IRCTC launches new payment gateway iPay for booking train tickets

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Indian Railway Tourism and Catering Corporation (IRCTC) has started its payment gateway IRCTC-iPay and it is now live for use by train travelers.
  • The payment gateway is part of Indian Railway’s drive to provide better services to its customers by introducing new features.
  • iPay has options of credit card, debit card, international card, and UPI.
  • The IRCTC iPAY will also allow users to get an instant refund if they book their train tickets through the IRCTC website or the mobile app.

Hi Readers, there is good news for all of you that IRCTC completely changes their existing system which would sufficiently save a lot of time for travelers and provide a user-friendly interface to book the tickets online within a few seconds.

IRCTC is constantly moving towards digital progress by continuously updating its system to provide better services to its customers.

Benefits of New System and newly added Features

In case an online payment fails or an error pops up, IRCTC will be able to directly contact the bank for problem resolution. By launching this payment gateway, IRCTC has eliminated dependence on any intermediary or third-party source, thus making the process of booking train tickets faster and trouble-free.

The new payment gateway of the IRCTC would save a lot of time as compared to the amount of time customers spend on the payment gateways of their banks.

It would also allow a quick refund for the passengers if and when they cancel their train tickets.

Through this service, the passengers will be able to see the online reservation chart sitting at home.

Before traveling, you will be able to see which seat of the train your seat is. You will be able to see the digital repatriation of your booked ticket. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has also given this information through his social media platform.

iPay has options of credit card, debit card, international card, and UPI (Unified Payment Interface) to make payments. Other payment options such as IRCTC prepaid card-cum-wallet and auto-debit are expected to be added to the payment gateway soon.
