We are slowly witnessing the roll out of 5G in countries around the world. Some of the leading mobile networks are now offering 5G as standard with their monthly packages but is it really helping those who like to play mobile games?

At the time of writing, there are so many regions where it is no possible to access 5G, it is difficult to say if it is helping mobile gamers. Those who reside in the big cities are sure to be taking advantage of 5G to play games but those living outside of these cities are yet to gain access to 5G. For example, there is excellent 5G in London but as soon as you begin leaving the city, the coverage is not so good, with 4G being the main option for most people. So, while plenty of mobile gamers in the big cities are enjoying 5G for mobile gaming, the same cannot be said for those who living elsewhere.

In that respect, 5G is not helping all mobile gamers but it is only a matter of time before 5G becomes available to everyone, in the same way 4G is now accessible in most communities. With that in mind, there are many benefits to using a 5G connection for mobile gamers.

The first of which is latency. If you have ever played an online multiplayer game you will know just how frustrating it is when the game slows down, even for a second, and it costs you badly. That is something which will be consigned to the bin thanks to the introduction of 5G. eSports is a massive industry and there are big money competitions held every year featuring the most popular multiplayer video games. Many of these games can be played using a mobile device and although there is no money at stake when playing the games on a mobile device for fun, they are still extremely competitive. Having 5G means the game will be smoother than ever before and players can play in the confidence they are not going to be let down by their mobile internet connection at a crucial time.

5G is going to really help mobile casino gamers, both in terms of playing live casino games and bringing new mobile casino games and experiences to life. There is nothing more frustrating than playing a mobile casino game only for the connection to drop but with 5G, that is going to be a thing of the past.

In addition, 5G will help with the introduction of new mobile casino games. We already have access to some virtual reality casino games but it will be taken to a new level thanks to the introduction of 5G. Augmented reality is another potential bonus of 5G and in the future, we could be able to play casino games as if we are in the room with the dealer and other players. However, for the time being, 5G is helping mobile gamers by providing faster speeds and smoother connections.
