- ‘Republic of Sarah’ Canceled After Single Season on The CW.
- There will be no second season for The Republic of Sarah.
- The drama has been among the lesser watched shows in the network’s summer lineup.
The drama premiered as part of The CW’s summer lineup, but it turned out to be among the lesser-watched shows. For this reason, “The Republic of Sarah” will be the only original scripted series from the 2020-2021 period, to not return with a second season. The series finale is scheduled to air on September 6, 2021, on the CW. In Canada, the series airs on Citytv. In India, the series streams on CBS Studios’s sister streamer Voot.
The show failed to find much of an audience upon its debut, averaging a Live+Same Day audience of around 325,000 viewers. It failed to find much critical love either, with the first season hold a 43% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The CW show focuses on a beautiful and quaint New Hampshire town, Greylock. While the town is mostly a quiet, peaceful place, it soon starts attracting unwanted attention when the highly valuable and rare mineral coltan is discovered beneath the land.
When Lydon Industries, a mining company deadset on getting their hands on the mineral, enters the picture, the bold high school history teacher Sarah Cooper (Stella Baker) takes it in her hands to save Greylock and the homes of its inhabitants.
Jeffrey Paul King wrote on Instagram:
“I’m sad to say, the news is not good. The Republic of Sarah will come to an end on Monday with what will now be our Series Finale,” King wrote. “Thank you so much to everyone who watched and who let our little show into their lives. It means the world to us. Please tune in on Monday and help us say goodbye to Greylock.”
The Republic of Sarah” did manage to garner an 89% audience score on the review-aggregation website for film and television Rotten Tomatoes, but it still failed to get critical love as it only scored a 43% critic approval.
