- Three new voice features for Outlook mobile—now on iOS, and coming soon to Android.
- Microsoft is adding voice capabilities to its Outlook mobile app.
- You can also schedule meetings with your voice.
Microsoft says the latest Outlook for Windows performance upgrade is its “biggest change since 1997”. The company has announced that its Outlook app for Windows is about to receive a massive update, with several performance enhancements and feature improvements.
Microsoft is starting to roll out new meeting-scheduling and dictation features enabled by Cortana, its digital-assistant productivity technology, for Microsoft 365 and Outlook on iOS users.
Use Dictation in Outlook mobile
Microsoft 365 users can also take advantage of Dictation in Outlook mobile. This functionality is something you may be familiar with on desktop for Word and Outlook, now available for iOS, with Android coming soon.
With the power of Dictation in Outlook mobile, you can now use your voice to respond or write new email messages, delivering advanced speech-to-text while on the go. By simply speaking naturally, you have the potential to get more work done in shorter amounts of time—and with a greater sense of ease and control.
The new AI-enhanced voice capabilities quickly contextualize your voice requests and provide a rapid response, making it more easy and natural to work on the go. Microsoft says Cortana will help find the right file or contact as well as manage a user’s calendar to find and schedule meetings.
The company is presently planning to roll this out later this month, and it’s mark as “an improvement” on the corporate’s Microsoft 365 feature roadmap. Microsoft can be engaged on a “ship later” function for Outlook on the net that can enable customers to schedule when to ship an e-mail message.
Microsoft Outlook: How to use These Features?
These new features allow users to use voice to schedule meetings and compose emails in Outlook Mobile. Users need to hold down the plus sign in Outlook mobile, then hit the microphone icon to “Use Voice” and tell Cortana what they want to do. They can ask Cortana questions, such as “When’s my next team meeting?” or request Cortana add more meeting invitees.
