Sony PlayStation 5 has been the talk of the town ever since the launch was confirmed. It was scheduled for a pre-registration on 12th January 2020 at 12 noon. Minutes after the pre-registration started, it went out of stock. Does that mean that Indians were waiting eagerly for PS5 to be launched ?
Sony PlayStation 5 was available across many retail platforms
Sony PlayStation 5 was available for pre-registrations on Amazon India, Flipkart, Reliance Digital, Croma and other major retail platforms.
Initially, Amazon India reflected that the stocks went out within just 3 seconds, though it later updated a few more pieces within 10-15 minutes. Flipkart’s stock lasted for about 15 seconds.
Concluding, the pre-registration was underestimated by the company probably because the stocks were limited.
According to the reports, Sony PlayStation 5’s stock couldn’t last for the time equivalent to XBOX console, which was said to be a record breaking pre-registered sales.
PlayStation 5 availability in India
Many gamers were disheartened after the launch of the console was delayed. The company initially gave a tentative release date around end of 2020 but later they took to twitter to announce the release date of Sony PlayStation 5.

The tweet from the company came as a New Year’s gift.
Is there any other chance for pre-registration ?
The answer is Yes. The company is so pleased with the overwhelming response from the public that they said there will be another round of pre-registrations of the gaming console.
Soon after the stocks went all sold out, scalpers were spotted selling units on platforms like OLX.
