On Monday, the most popular messaging app – WhatsApp has issued the statement that the two bugs that are found in the outdated software have been fixed now.
Now there is no reason to think ever that “these vulnerabilities were ever abused”its users again.
WhatsApp developers made this official statement after the advisory issued by the CERT.
In which it is mentioned that WhatsApp users should be careful about certain vulnerabilities in the app that can steal user’s sensitive information.
WhatsApp’s Spokesperson made this statement-
On Saturday, CERT-In, or the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team issued an advisory.
They had detected vulnerability in the software of WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business for Android prior to v126.96.36.199 and WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business for iOS prior to v2.21.32”.
In the advisory, the CERT has said that
“Multiple vulnerabilities have been found in WhatsApp. Any remote hacker can easily steal the sensitive information on a targeted system.”
They recommended that users must update their devices with the latest version of WhatsApp Application to remain secure from this vulnerability.
